Both men and women have a positive bias towards women. Most men (normies) tend to side with the woman in an argument between a man and a woman, even if the man is right, because they think this way they can fulfill their biological purpose by getting sex (delusional simping). Women (toilets) will also side with the woman against the man in such a scenario because their in-group bias is about four times that of men, which is essentially the same thing as saying that they are a hivemind. This means that if a society gives women equal rights with men, it is not making them equal to men but superior to them because women are already privileged from a biological point of view. The reason why almost all religions and philosophies in the past have imposed strict restrictions on female sexuality is to neutralize this biological advantage that women have and to prevent the emergence of weak matriarchal societies.

Traditions and social norms can't create new biological instincts, they can only determine how and to what extent existing instincts can be expressed. What we call “simping” today was called “gentlemanly conduct” in Victorian Era and “chivalry” in the Middle Ages. These are all manifestations of men's instinct to protect women in order to get sex. If normie men, like blackpilled men, realized that this instinct often works against their own interests and acted accordingly, the Incel problem would be largely solved because in such a scenario most women would be either killed or enslaved.
