So I applied for, and got, my new passport ahead of schedule. No issues.
That's great for sure, and I'm glad to have completed this step; but that just makes me more baffled as to why I was detained earlier. Surely if I was a terrorist, or had links to them, or was in any way suspicious, I couldn't just get a new passport so quickly.
Yeah, I think earlier someone just fucked up.

I think at this point, *one* apology from certain people, and an assurance that the CBP nonsense will never happen again, can still work.
Otherwise, after my CBP FOIA comes back, I will be writing representatives with oversight authority. Some agents might need to testify, or lose their jobs.
