Why does inequality exist ?

This is a profound philosophical and religious question I still have yet to see a good answer for it what is a sad reality about life is that there is a person who wants something but will never get it and then there is a person who gets something without doing anything but the question becomes why does the person get something while the other person doesn't get something ?
