Depends bro. I live in a place that has ethnic diversity and it also works pretty good.
I mean Europe. Its the most ethnically diverse place in the world. I live in italy, which is one of the most ethnically diverse places ever. Im not going to lie to you pretending as if there are no racial tensions and no conflicts of interests. But I tell the truth if I say this model can work. It is working.
In the north you see german looking people, in sicily people are arab in the DNA but they are christian, in center italy people look like roman statue from rome, in the region I live theres french+italian as languages. Most people in EU learn 2 or 3 langs. In switzerland is gona be 3.
This diversity works, and it affirms nationalism. Its a triumph of nationalism and ethnic homogeneity. It simply means every people has a right to have its place in the world. Instead of mixing everyone together in an urban megacity, we didnt mix and we have one place for each. This exposes to you the reality that the dream of having "your place" not only is possible but is also functional.
