In my personal history of porn coping I got in several genres.

When I was 10 I got into hentai. Tentacles was my favorite at the time and I also loved stomach bulging. The tentacle hentai of the time was also extreme. Well Ok basically I was wondering if porn can alter a personality because I was dialoguing with normeis and I noticed they dont really get into all porns, but into one in particular they treat like an extension of themselves. But its not true for all porn genres. Some porn genres require acting and impersonation. Other porn genres do not inform any behavior. Some porn genre named "gonzo" really tells you little to do in life is just a closeup shot of a gaped anus at times. A porn genre like BDSM instead will change your entire life because you have to act a role in it, and the task to meet other people in it is hard enough.

What is my current hypothesis is not all porn alter automatically a personality. But some kinds of porn can shape identity itself. You can alter your behavior and social life in ways that "feel" like your personality already changed, and with time you will acquire a split alter. Now, what I presume (im not a behavioral psychologist) is porn as consumption does not alters personality. Because you watch, you have no role except if you are a paying simp (you will act the role if you pay for it), no skill no script no social expectations. Except if you expect a woman to have done an enema just before she met you casually in a club, that would be unrealistic.

But some genres are about participation and impersonation. So they have roles, power dynamics and hierarchical sociosexual situations. I would say the most fitting example is BDSM. Because it requires to act these very cringe very childish roles wheer someone wears latex and the other is "big daddy" (sorry im chuckling its so funny). Sure thing in that case people get a split personality alter.

Well is my current hypothesis. Not all porn can alter you. Or am I wrong? I dont know
