Despite my parents not really being Christian or anything, I still remember when I was really young they would get me gifts during the holidays, but it stopped when I was around 7 years old because they decided they'd rather give that money to get themselves drugs instead.
I was young and thought it was normal, but going to school and hearing everyone talk about what they got/did for the holiday season really hurt me. As I grew older it made me feel sad because I realised that my situation wasn't normal and that the people (parents) who were supposed to be there for me and make me happy chose drugs over me.
When I was 13 and got to the youth center all the other kids went home during the holidays and I was the only one who stayed behind, it always made me feel alone and hopeless. During college it also was the same story I never made friends and never had a gf either so I was once again alone during the holidays. This season always makes me feel horribly alone and hopeless. I took both available shifts at work on the christmas days since they will pay extra, might as well wage-slave myself out of this misery and get paid more at least.
I hate holiday season
