Stoicism isnt awesome

They think apathy is the best. And some people say stoicism can lead to rationality. Now, I get it, they consider it more lke freedom from destructive passions. Now obviously what is a "destructive" passion is always subjective.

I think it cannot lead to rationality because we dont know yet what is rationality. Basically we have some rudimentary "primitive emotions" like lust play fear and rage. Also you can consider seeking (curiosity) an emotion and caring too. These are primitive rudimentary emotions that some consider "innate". But there is more, there are also emotions that arise from interactions with others or from cultural contexts.

Stoics instead divide emotions into 2 parts: pathe is what destroys you. They go as far as to consider them fake emotions.
Eupatheiai are good emotions. "Good" of course is subjective.

So according to my viewpoint, their way of handling emotions is not dissimilar to what new agers or SJWs do, not dissimilar to what cults do. They restrict the range of emotional possibilities, they achieve groups where thought control takes shapes similar to conan the barbarian or zardoz dystopias.

Now, in my viewpoint, this isnt rationality. I dont think you can be rational by means of denial parts of your intellect. Since emotions are signals, denying them or calling them "bad" really does not leads to any sort of progress. For example I agree with conan the barbarian and zardoz, these societies they had with "Perfect emotional harmony" were all decadent and enslavement camps.

For example, in conan the barbarian the cult of the serpent had a caste system. Priest on top, warriors below him and warriors had property rights. Wimps and life coaching assholes at the bottom as property-less serfs into "emotional control". You clearly saw warriors enjoying full range emotional spectrum and propety rights and booze and sex. The slaves wimps and faggots were all harvested and multi raped by legions of pedos and life coaching gurus like jordan peteson or tony robbins, people with a smile as if they work in an apple store.

I know some people will disagree with me, could tell me "stoicism is all about emotional mastery". Nah it isnt. If it was about that it would not deny emotions calling them "bad".
