Can't change shit without money

I've been in various activism groups throughout my life and also tried to do some activism myself. What I've come to realize is that, as a person without substantial financial means, it is nearly impossible to create any substantial change.
Look at all the movements who changed something, regardless of what it is. They all have one thing in common: Money.

Islamic State had money because of oil fields. Once that broke away because US bombed their oil fields, they collapsed
Taliban had money because they taxed the opium (afghanistan being biggest opium producer of the world)

Climate change groups like Fridays for Future get millions in donations, for example by Steven Schuurman and Climate Emergency Fund (CEF).

Plus you need to sustain yourself. It just seems like you can't really do anything without money.

yes, but the main thing they have in common is that they already had a large follower group at all first.
