It sounds as though you may have been listening to Andrew Tate's podcast since I know he talks a great deal about the actual possibility of us living in a Matrix. There is some scientifically meritorious hypotheses to support the theory that we may be living in a simulation of the world that we subjectively believe is real. There is really no way to actually test this of course, but when you look into it more it does seem as though it is at least possible, especially considering the rate of advancement in information processing and how advanced future simulations will be.
