Is there a future plan to switch over to xenforo?

Apologies if this subject has already been discussed before, but I believe one of the obstacles holding this forum back is the archaic phpbb software currently used to run it. If we are to attract and retain a sizable userbase this issue has to be resolved eventually, especially since most forum members are familiar and comfortable with using xenforo.

I agree. If anyone remembers inceldom.cafe, they were a complete clone of incels.is, like this: https://archive.ph/inceldom.cafe
They got 100+ members in about a week with a high post volume. Then admin then tried to sell the site https://archive.ph/TkbpP . People who have been on .is for a while are highly accustomed to that forum format, plus it's more compatible (e.g. this one logs me out every 2 minutes because I use Tor). I believe that a recruitment drive along with a forum makeover will be the best path forward.

Agreed. This forum has the potential for greatness but there is still some work necessary to help push it along the path of success. I have faith that the administration of this site will recognize the need for this to take place.

Exactly. Most members of the incelosphere are all well used to posting on xenforo forums. The architecture of this site is sadly too outdated to be able to sufficiently compete with the alternatives. I also remember inceldom.cafe, it was a short lived but cozy site, and I am fairly certain internal issues caused by a filthy femoid fractured the administration causing its untimely demise.Intercel wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 6:51 am I agree. I pray that this does not happen to this forum as well. We all need to be united.

Yeah we definitely need to improve the forum UI but we kinda had to prioritize, and we've already had to do enormous work just to create the site and keep it alive to begin with. We already had to switch domains and hosting providers because of faggots trying to report and censor us - but with the way things are configured now we should be secure going forward. Keeping the domain operational at all and recruiting enough of a userbase and content to keep things engagin kinda took priority.
Especially in the very beginning we weren't sure if anyone would come on here anyways. So we didnt want to spend money on XenForo when phpBB was free and we just wanted to get this forum and movement off the ground.
We also only have one staff member who is properly knowledgeable on these technical matters, so if anyone is skilled in XenForo we would welcome the help.

Thank you for answering. I now have a clearer picture of the situation and I must say I appreciate the work you have done in keeping this forum afloat. Outside forces are obviously trying to crush this site before it gains traction and reaches its full potential. I unfortunately don’t have any personal technical experience with xenforo forums, but I will do my best to remain active in this forum at the very least.PoodankMcGee wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 12:35 pm Yeah we definitely need to improve the forum UI but we kinda had to prioritize, and we've already had to do enormous work just to create the site and keep it alive to begin with. That is my concern as well. The features which distinguish us and make us truly remarkable in the incelosphere are the very same features which I believe we would have to do without if we were to make the transition to a different web hosting software.
We need to maintain a hierarchical structure so as to ensure that we conform to our abiding principle of embracing a true meritocracy at all times. Implementing and maintaining a military rank structure is essential to ensuring that this top down hierarchy is observed and enforced. Additionally, we have a very complex and immersive forum awards system which itself is predicated on the official awards protocols for the IPF. Utilizing these ribbons, stars and other meritorious devices depends on our reliance on the phpBB design.
Finally and as noted by the lieutenant above, I have personally invested more then $250 USD in order to create our own servers that are entirely independent of normie web infrastructure which has thereby safeguarded this site from the sorts of malignant whores who most vehemently oppose us and who were responsible for having taken our site offline at the end of August.
All this notwithstanding, we are aware of the constraints that our current software imposes but I do not see this as a constructive impediment to expanding this movement. The message, the mandate and the mission are what matters to men of conviction and courage, not so much the method or the means by which we propagate our rhetoric.
