In the 2000s houellebecq was considered the greatest living blackpiller, the most truthful french writer who maintains the sad edgy writing style of france, and the guy that best represented the blackpill in the great international stage.
He wrote his best books in that period I have read them all.
My favorite is extension du domaine de la lutte is also the one containing more incel ideations than the rest.
One thing he was criticized for often is that he self inserts in every single book. Every book is the same: sad character is demotivated he only cares about sex nothing else matters. Vegene is interpreted as a mystical experience that can give you vitality and fix your life. Life shits anyway even if you get vegene in the end.
Thats the summary. But I honestly liked the repetitiveness and the characters were realistic and overall not a literary lie.
Theres going to be middle aged men who want to get student pussy, they are all what contemporary critics would describe as "emotionally flat", there are mildly depressed people (not quite depressed but melodramatic and miserable), there are sexually frustrated normies who are intermittently "successful" when they sporadically get a decent pussy.
Narrators are often people from the humanities or civil servants or passive obedient normies who entered the machine of society. They are normies who had to study for a decade only to see some black thug from a ghetto get stacy pussy and they rot in absolute decay and destruction in some sort of purgatory existence.
Some people said this is always the same story repackaged many times. I agree I think is the case but I liked to read more of the same material anyway.
I think houellebecq sees vegene as mana, similar to how lookismcels see it and call it "ascension". But it never works.
Other than that, i think over time I greatly surpassed the blackpill levels in these books. I was considering houellebecq a blackpill prophet. I stopped being his fan when he published soumission that I didnt even read. Its a book about all men becoming muslims to get pussy. Later he published new books i didnt read, I also heard he became politically famous and opened a sexual tourism company to travel to asia.
His central thesis is something i disagree with. Vegene is not mana I think it drains your energy instead. Proof of this can be found in all his characters, they are all walkin zombies who care only of vegene. All these men lives were demolished by the quest for vegene, who got the worst treatment were these normies who got vegene intermittently. Incels had it better, they also killed and lived short heroic lives as if greek heroes who die young and covered in glory. Some people grew old to experience what is truly like to suffer.
Secondly, I got into the dialogue surrounding modernity. I noticed houellebecq was not entirely sincere in his books, he was mostly performing an artistic identity. Also, part of his narrative style is due to a typical way all french authors use to write. They like to be melodramatic and write stuff that is always ending in misery and pain. life cannot be good in a frenchman perspective, you always struggle for nothing or for fleeting delusions that keep you alive only because you crave the next delusion. But they are also a bit cynical because deep down they know it they are coping. In any case I think is a performance with clear political aims.
So one thing about this houellebecq dude is hes a strategic performer living inside of a national and political literary tradition. Once I started seeing him that way, most of my admiration was already dissolved and I didnt like him that much anymore. I realized he was not really writing transparently about despair and incel life. The truth he wrote was probably stolen life from people he observed around him, and in a way it seemed to me almost as if he was mocking inceldom itself, laughing because he was above it.
At this point I started to consider him much less than celine or rousseau or baudelaire. In these people writing they always say if youre happy youre stupid if youre optimistic youre naive and dumb, if youre fixing issues youre a bourgeoisie in denial. But if youre "cynic" is a badge of honor instead. I disagree. I also found this attitude in lookism community. What I noticed is what these people boast as "cynic attitude" isnt even that big of a deal, its not even factual. Is more like a posture.
Another attitude you encounter is what I call "preemptive coping", the houellebecq characters are all "cynical" in expectation of something bad is about to happen. So they shield against all hope, and remain superior at all costs. Its not a bad attitude to have, it seems to be working in a strange way.
What you get is characters who say "yes its all empty" "sure, i know is pointless" "yeah I totally know im pathetic" "who cares anyway I already know im coping"
its like tey are 3 or 4 layers deep into a cope, and they also know they know they are coping. So they are multistrata onion layers of coping that becomes cope influencing itself. I will call it "recursive coping" for the moment. The idea is your cope feeds on the awareness of itself as coping as if it was a living organism within your mind.
Example: sex with save me and love will fix my life and modernity is progress. The character knows all of this is false. So far, nothing is new under the sun. But the characters in houellebecq writing go further, they add the second onion layer of coping, they say: I am cynical I know all of this is fake, im not fooled like the normies, I see thru lies. Then add a third recursive layer of coping by doing this: I know my cynicism is just a lie, I know my despair is all posture, I know im a fucked trapped loser anyway.
By this point they have a delusion feeding on itself. But they also have no way out of it. Which is why all these characters end up in purgatory for all their life.
Till here all is fine. its standard frenchman tradition. But houellebecq to me seemed the most inauthentic of all. Simply because of his theatrical performance of modernity. What I realized is he was faking it. All of it. Basically he had a political message all along. I didnt like it. I mean, he also joined the nouvelle droite. It became evident to me, he was about to represent what tavistock would call "the decline of the west".
I discovered thru a decade of conspiracy theories the decline is something that has to be embodied and performed. It does not happens on its own, so you need clowns and writers to make people become declinist. I called them "the declinist thinkers", people who will perform an artificial identity.
Basically yeah Im accusing houellebecq of being a doctrinal member of nouvelle droite and not real. I dont think hes just doing his theatrical performance and thats it. I know its a big accusation almost without evidence. But I collected enough conspiracy theory materials to have this suspect.
I blackpillmog houellebecq
