A few weeks ago I got rejected by yet another shelter for the homeless, I have been rejected a lot before and (stupidly) thought that a new year might make the one time I did stay at a shelter disappear or not count, I was wrong.

I am now still on the streets and it has been snowing a lot and its been cold as fuck lately, so much so that I have gotten sick. I still went to work becuase a sick day won't get me paid as much I will still be getting paid a bit if I call in sick properly but every penny helps now that I'm homeless. However today I got sent away for being too sick so I just went to the library.

Just a few hours ago I almost got robbed. which is so stupid to think about because who would think a homeless person has anything of value, while I do have my laptop and phone.
I was back at me tent and wanted to put some more layers of clothes on before I went to the gym to use their free coffee maker for hot water for my ramen. I decided to pee first since I really needed to go, I (VERY stupidly) left my bag with my phone and laptop in my tent, thinking it would be okay since I was only going a few meters away from my tent and I always make sure to face my tent. I got to a good spot and was about to unzip when I heard someone running, I could not tell which side it was from so I spun in a cricle to look, a few seconds later someone ran to my tent from the left. I always have a pocket knife on me and without a second thought I got it out of my pocket and opened it, the person saw it and froze I then told them not to set a step closer to my tent and after slowly backing up, he walked away, it was clearly anohter homeless person which is kinda funny to think about that mostly when people danger me they are fellow homeless people. I packed my entire tent and looked for another spot. I went back to a spot I was at earlier and had left due to too much noise, but from all the problems I have had with different placed I'll gladly take noise over anything.

Currently eating luke warm ramen while sitting on the steps near the library to use their free wifi :copium:

I still have a job and a source of income so luckily there is not really a need to risk getting arrested by having to steal, it is always an option tho

yeah, but living in a tent without any ac seems worse than living in a cell though.

That is really brutal and rage fuel bro. There are some homeless people where I live in my geographical area of the U.S. and whenever I see them I myself get hit with a sudden sensation of fear for some reason I see my future self in them. The reason is the fear I myself might become homeless one day especially when I am on my own. I myself think at some point in the distant future I will be in s similar situation as yourself so this is exactly one of the reasons I completely sympathize and empathize with you and all of my homeless brothers. Of course I do not want this to happen but the world is a very cruel and horrible place. There were more homeless people in the city where I went to college.

You mind if I ask what happened to your family? Do you not speak to them?

I no longer speak to my parents know do I know where they are.
I grew up as an only child and my parents were drug addicts, eventually the cops took me away from them because the teachers at my school called the cops on them and put me in a youth center, at first my parents would at least still call me but after a few years they stopped, last when I spoke to them was 2016 (I was 16) now its 2026, turning 26 next month which will make it a decade ago. I don't really know any other family members, I knew my grandma from my mom side but she died when I was 11 and thats basically all.

True but risking my job is too risky, plus in about 4/5 months I will get a full time contract which will make saving up for a new cheap apartment (even shared if needed) easier.
