Dishonor Award

Growing up, we were told by popular culture, our elders, the media, and others what we should do in order to earn respect and succeed in life.

If you want to have friends, a spouse, have a good job, live a full and prosperous life, and have the respect of your colleagues, you "would have to be a good and kind person, be helpful, have character, personality, and apologize if you offend anyone." That was the mantra for many years, at least when I was growing up.

It's only later that I realized, slowly at first, and then like a ton of bricks, that this was all hogwash. Bullshit. The above doesn't make you a man; it makes you timid and weak.

People, and other men in particular, only respect ONE thing. And that's your ability to (legally) hurt others. Threaten their job, their paycheck, take resources from them, threaten to sue them, etc. That's how men get ahead, and get pussy, and we all know it. Your character, or how you treat others, counts for Zero. If you can't hurt anyone, you will be ignored, forgotten, exploited and discarded. That's a basic fact of nature. The lion would not try to eat the gazelle if the gazelle had a gun. :ERPEPE

It may sound pessimistic in the opinions of some, but humans are essentially wild animals who have invented smart phones and shoes. When it comes to our priorities for a mate, we're no different from wild chimpanzees.

Kind of how like women only appreciate physical appearance. Your kindness and character are meaningless.

The world is general is a unfair place.
You can be the kindest person ever and still have shit happening to you that is out of your control and can ruin your life.

I heard this story. Mostly it circulates in MGTOW spaces.

personally i dont find it true, we younger generations lived in times of turmoil where social norms were changin rapidly. I personally seen therise and fall of the internet, the rise and fall of social media. I lived thru 3 major shifts in dating norms, adapted to none of them.

Its not I lack capability to adapt, or I wasnt aware of the failure of one model early on. Its the opposite I lived in days where many models were experimented and I managed to collect blackpills about all of them.

So its not my case, they didnt tell me anything really. Whatver they told me was to be replaced. Older people too adapted with times. Nobody today will tell you to "work hard" and get girlfriend. Nobody. Except on some trump supporter internet space.

I also suspect its different in other cultures. A canadian internet friend told me the anglo have a mdel of "work hard" ethic. They have a work ethic based on taking pride the harder you work. In my civilization (mediterranean south EU) its the opposite. We do 3 hours lunchtime, we dont work, we have what is called on the internet "mediterranean working ethic". In a nutshell we are just lazy. I never truly was told "hey kid work hard". Never. I swear, nobody told me. I was told by boomers to use my skills to become politicians and make money (which i also did, entered city council) and other things.

Overall this situation youre describing seems circumscribed to peculiar cultural spaces in the anglo world. Just wanted to capture the idea.
