In my generation apple was a big secular religion for the atheist masses.

Myth 1: steve jobs invented civilization. Reality is that steve jobs did not deposit any patent didnt design CPUs, didnt write OS, didnt engineer any hardware. What Jobs did was performing the artificial identity of the "CEO visionary" probably he got into recitation and theatrics to fool the dumbasses.

Myth 2: apple invented modern computers and phones. Reality: apple did not invent phones. Mouse already existed, GUI existed, tablets and smartphones were already there. Apple mostly injected some religious experience in the postmodern design ideology of dieter rams. Some catharsis for the atheist dumbasses godless screwed up losers.

Myth 3: apple commputers are for "creative people". Fake, its just branding. Born after the 90s, with the "think different" campaign, now we laugh at it, they are all roboto NPCs with the grey colored laptop. Apple was giving heavy "education discount" to students and adobe partnership. This led to the idea apple is for creatives, mostly because it was adopted by the social caste of hipster "web designers" who love to brand themselves as "creative".

Myth 4 animation studios use apple imacs and macbooks. This is so stupid I cant believe people really believed it. Reality: Linux and windows dominate. Pixar, dreamworks and ILM and so on used windows and linux machines, render farms with thousands of overpriced CPU/GPU nodes were used. Nobody would have had any benefit using an imac, its not an animation machine its a designer/architect tool at best.

Myth 5 macbooks are more powerful, better built. I would say they surely are better built so this myth is not fully blasted. As for "more powerful" let me doubt it.

Myth 6 apple is used by professionals and people who are serious: Fake, is used by hipsters into the web economy or by people who want to appear "higher caste" or "professional". You do not get any better performance from an apple user.

These myths persist but I blasted them all.

Nowadays there's this doomer religion of Elon Musk and AI that somewhat mirrors it. In reality what people call AI nowadays has nothing to do with intelligence, it's just language models based on statistics. And this Elon guy who is a borderline conman is being worshipped like a real life Tony Stark.

It's still intelligence even if its not human level intelligence
