Im lucky, if life was like fahrenheit 451 I would be "the dead" because I committed to memory this short booklet from joyce.
I was training my mind to do mnemonics, and to test my skills I tried with a small book and I used the sense of hearing to achieve full memorization.
So my luck is that I got a cool name "the dead", at least is a cool book title.
I am the dead.

Its small im amateur. Champions of memory can do much more. So if youre on training you can start with small books like stories from shakespeare sometimes are small. Joyce came easy to me because its full of sound terminology, so you can remember a sequence of sounds and is a clever trick.Pour_Lui wrote: 29 Dec 2025, 17:37 You recorded a full book in your memory? That's insane. I too have a mnemonic system that I've developed

Could you expand further on this? How would one go into memorizing prose? I know some people are able to, but I have no idea how

Its just joyce was using lots of sounds like in comics with the "bang" sound effect similar to jojo with atmospheric sounds. So I would find the sound sequence, and essentially the method is about tricking memory into focusing on phonetic patterns, easier to remember than the words of the book.Pour_Lui wrote: 30 Dec 2025, 10:57 Could you expand further on this? I dont think my idea would work with other authors. Its just this one, he used 60 or more sound words in his book. I know they are more than 60 because i learn languages with same method: write words and memorize in sequence. So since joyce used a ton of words i didnt know, by reading dictionary I realized thy were all sounds. Thats when I had the idea of using sound mnemonics and seems to work.
