Im not expert in that war. Overall all I know is Rambo was the invader. And im supposed to feel sorry for him? Why?
Movie shows what happens when soldier comes home from a failed war. I understood about that war that America had moral problems and they didnt carry thru, didnt complete the war because public opinion was bad.
Other than that I seen worse situations. Soldiers are always erased from history. A life of a soldier is that of a slave. Where I live, soldier apartments are in worse conditions than a prison. They dont matter and journalists and intellectuals rationalize their very life experience. No soldier has a right to say "his truth" and for some reason none of them feels inclined to express his "life story" or his "side of the truth". If they do, its traitorous scum like the guys that sold out to hollywood to make war movies or books, basically people who try to profit from the tragedy and suffering of others.
I suspect then the story of Rambo is the story of some asshole traitor who backstabbed his peers to make money on hollywood.
But besides that. I dont like the artificial personality of Rambo. He was an invader. A vietnamese soldier had any moral right to defend his country vs invaders. So the hero of a story has to be the vietnamese guy, not Rambo. I dont give a fuck about this Rambo artificial hollywood personality. I noticed a ton of "ex soldiers" follow that script, evidently Hollywood brainwashes really good and they acquire the artificial personality. Its sort of an MK ultra brainwashing like the one they do to girls in HS with britney spear and jennifer lopez songs.
My point is. Who cares about Rambo. He made the choice in life to be a soldier. He could have chosen to be homeless or a construction worker. Instead he did the soldier, fine. His body his choice, but hes not the hero, he was sent to invade another country. Any story that makes sense should glorify the true hero who defends his country, not the invader.
I didnt vibe with Rambo. Dont get it.
