If you're religious and you believe in paradise after your life - why don't you just go there?
Muslims can always do jihad, which offers a good chance to die. Especially if you explode yourself. (Not saying you should do it, this is a hypothetical question).
And christians can do some highly dangerous missionary work like going to Sentinel Island and trying to convert the North Sentinelese.
So, if you really believe in paradise after life, why don't you do it?
If you really believe with 100% certainty that it will be the best place imaginable, there is no good reason not to go there. It would be like declining a million dollars as a poor person, it just doesn't make sense - unless you don't believe it exists.
This is one of the reasons why I don't believe a lot of religious people actually believe their own religion.
A question for those who believe in paradise

LOL! This is an excellent question comrade. Allow me to answer to the best of my ability as a Christian believer.Vincent wrote: 10 Oct 2025, 15:56 If you're religious and you believe in paradise after your life - why don't you just go there?

Jesus Christ in the Bible says: “And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.” -Matthew 10:14
Other Christian missionaries have already attempted to convert the Sentential Island creatures. Why would I repeat their suicide mission which has already proven to have been a failure?
To be honest comrade, you remind me of Satan tempting Jesus in the desert:
“5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”

So much religious garbage. Low IQ post. My question was not about the North Sentinelese, specifically. I'm sure there are lots of highly religious, prestigeous ways to die as a christian. I don't know, go feed poor children in a war-ridden country like kongo, if you happen to get shot - jackpot, you just arrived in paradise, and several decades earlier than you would otherwise. So why not take a shortcut?KingDavid wrote: 10 Oct 2025, 18:27LOL! This is an excellent question comrade. Or rather, you don't really believe that there will be paradise after death - hence the hesitation to do what should be like winning the lottery.Sumzero wrote: 12 Oct 2025, 20:41 the point is that sacrificing yourself for religion is easier said than done as most people inherently value their fleeting time in this mortal coil
